If enrolled, a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) lets you use tax-free dollars from your paycheck to pay for eligible medical, dental, vision, and dependent care expenses.

Be sure to use your eligible FSA funds before the end of the current plan year (December 31).

Healthcare FSA-Eligible Expenses

If you know you’ll have upcoming medical, dental, or vision expenses, consider using your FSA savings to pay those costs rather than paying out of pocket. Keep your FSA card handy when shopping as well!

  • Doctor and specialist copays
  • Medical plan deductibles and coinsurance
  • Prescription medications
  • Dental care, including cleanings, fillings, and orthodontia
  • Vision care, including eye exams, prescription glasses, and contact lenses

Dependent Care FSA dollars can be used to cover childcare and elder care expenses that will allow you (and your spouse) to work or look for work.

  • Certain babysitting or nanny expenses
  • Adult day care for an eligible dependent who cannot care for themselves
