The key difference between in-network and out-of-network vision care is the amount you’ll pay a provider for service.

In-Network

• EyeMed will pay the participating provider directly for covered services and materials, up to the allowed amount.
• You pay required copays and additional costs.

Out-of-Network

• You are responsible for what the plan will not pay.
• You pay the cost up front and file a claim for reimbursement.

Routine vision exams do more than protect eyes. They can also help protect your overall health by catching serious problems early, such as diabetes. If you have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, you could be at risk for eye diseases, including glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.

With EyeMed’s Diabetic Eye Care Program, you could be eligible to receive additional $0 copay or cost reimbursement follow-up vision services.
