- Dental care costs can be further reduced if you participate in a Health Care FSA.
Good dental care not only protects your smile, but it can also help you stay healthy.
Your dental plan will cover services provided by any licensed provider but using a Delta Dental network provider will keep your costs lower (DPO and PPO are interchangeable terms).
Remember, using an in-network provider will always save you the most money.
If you use an in-network dental provider, you’ll pay the dentist’s negotiated fees. Negotiated fees are the discounted amount that participating dentists have agreed to accept as payment in full, subject to any copays, deductibles, cost-sharing, and benefit maximum. Negotiated fees are subject to change.
If you use an out-of-network dental provider, you will be responsible for paying any charges above the Reasonable and Customary (R&C) fees. R&C fees are based on the lowest of 1) the dentist’s actual charge, 2) the dentist’s usual charge for the same or similar services, or 3) the charge of most dentists in the same geographic area for the same or similar services as determined by Delta Dental.
