When Was Your Last Eye Exam?

A yearly visit with your eye doctor can catch more than vision changes.

Lennox vision plan members can easily find an in-network provider using EyeMed’s Provider Locator.

Detect vision issues early.

Did you know only half of those who are at risk of losing their vision see an eye doctor every year?

There are several vision conditions that often go unnoticed until they get worse, but routine eye exams can help catch them early. Some common concerns to look out for include:

  • Nearsightedness: You see near objects clearly, but distant objects are blurry.
  • Farsightedness: You see distant objects clearly, but close-up things are blurry.
  • Dry eyes: When your eyes don’t make enough quality tears to lubricate and nourish the eye.
  • Astigmatism: When a part of your eye (either the cornea or lens) is more curved than it should be.
  • Cataracts: When the eye lens becomes cloudy, leading to blurred or dimmed vision.
  • Glaucoma: A group of eye diseases that can quietly damage the optic nerve, potentially causing vision loss.
  • Diabetic retinopathy: A diabetes-related condition that damages the retina and can result in vision loss.

Eye care = preventive care

Eye exams can reveal much more than just blurry vision.

Having your eyes checked by an eye specialist can help detect serious medical conditions before symptoms appear such as aneurysms, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, autoimmune disorders, and Alzheimer’s risk.
